Bill Polits (MM. Composition, San Francisco Conservatory, 1995) has lived a life centered on music.
In early childhood he was known to "sing all day long" according to his mother. Adding harmonica, guitar, piano, african percussion and overtone chanting to his palette, this musical trend has continued into his professional life as a recording and performing artist and music educator.
(See a bit more of what Bill gets up to)
Two major currents of thought flow throughout Bill's musical activities:
1) the belief that all people have the ability to develop a fun and healthy approach to musical participation; and
2) the vision of music as an outward manifestation of spiritual consciousness, perfectly blending the here and now with the eternal.
In addition to teaching guitar and piano Bill does digital sound design and recording in his San Francisco Bay Area studio.
Wind and Wire...."...Polits' expressive overtone chanting.. is startlingly emotive and a superbly layered musical treat...otherworldly is a..choice of words to describe the floating washes of voice."
Polits is an accomplished musician, a spiritual soul that understands how the essence of the human vocal sounds can touch a resonance and vibration that connects a being to their quintessential essence, that spark of divinity within.
His genius is to bring that out through the accomplished interplay and seamless blending of harp, guitars, bass and voice.
