Anne Marie explains what this style of Yoga is - 
" Sun Power is an eclectic mix of three traditional styles. Iyengar - for alignment. Sivananda - for Subtle Mind and Breath Work. Astanga - for Heat, Flexibility, Strength and Stamina. This form I developed firstly for my own training, and then for my classes. It encompasses the classical Sun Salute (Surya Namaska) as the skeleton. With my dance background I saw this as an opportunity to pull together many techniques, ideas and idioms.
It is a dance-like moving form testing the body and the mind as it works layer upon layer building up to a very difficult series of postures keeping to the sun salute skeleton.
This dance/yoga form is a challenge physically and mentally." - Anne Marie Newland.

What to expect from the Sun Power Yoga teacher training program:
ABOUT THE COURSES: LEVEL ONE 162 CONTACT HOURS.
* This is a certified and insured qualification which is recognised internationally.
* The course is held in Leicester and London, UK and its duration is 3 months with one years mentoring.
* Each Saturday you will participate in a complete days workshop, this will be a hard days work!
* Each Saturday you will cover a different aspect of your course. You will be required to complete tasks set for you in between our meetings if you live away.
* You will be required to write an essay on the particular module we will be working on and to read the appropriate books on your given reading list.
* I will expect you do 3 classes a week with a qualified yoga teacher whenever possible.
* Over the 3 months we will build up a close relationship and I will remain your mentor for the next year.
LEVEL TWO TO COMPLETE 240 CONTACT HOURS.
* A further 10 weeks training, one day a week 9-30am -6pm.
* Exploring more deeply pranayama, the bandhas, mantra and mudra.
* Use of a wheel chair in a class.
* The chakras and their realationship to the postures and organs of the body.
* The Theory of Hatha Yoga lectures.
* The Warrior poses and mens health issues.
* Exploring the Endocrine System.
* Body and Mind Centering and The Circuits of the Brain.
* Technique classes and assessments will be on going.

£200 non-returnable deposit is required to secure place. The remainder to be paid by start of course. Arrangements can be made by contract to pay in 3 instalments.
