Quarterly magazine subscriptions This is a seven times a year publication and features many of the glitterati and well known names in the Yoga pantheon. They contribute their knowledge and wisdom and as a useful information base for beginners and adepts alike, Yoga Journal offers much.
It does suffer from its own success as quite often the balance between editorial and advertising can make the content suffer at the hands of the paid advertising. But then with the greater and greater commercialisation of yoga this seems to be inevitable.
Sleek and modern in its layout and presentation it probably sits well with the generation brought up on a diet of glossy magazines. In spite of these apparent failings, the editorial content is very good.
The content and quality of the contributors make this of all the yoga magazines, a perennial.
Recent articles include diet, fitness, money and yoga, meditation and teacher/ student relations.
If you are looking for great material about yoga, one of the regular contributors to the yoga magazines, Georg Feuerstein has produced two excellent audio books on Yoga. They are The Lost Teachings of Yoga and Yoga Wisdom
